Softricity developed a next-generation platform for the delivery and management of software applications to the enterprise, now known as virtualization. Softricity changes the paradigm for software distribution. Instead of physically installing software on individual machines, applications are installed only once on a central server. Code is then streamed on demand, where it executes on the end user’s desktop. This platform takes advantage of the best aspects of the desktop-rich client software running on powerful desktop microprocessors and marries them with the best aspects of the web-central administration and ease of deployment. The Company had entered into important strategic partnerships with Microsoft and Citrix.
